AHW issues call for applications for preceptors for student research experiences
July 23, 2019 - The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment (AHW) invites eligible Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) investigators to apply through a new Call for Preceptors for Student Research Experiences.
This funding is available to MCW investigators interested in expanding the scope of their current AHW-funded research projects to serve as preceptors for meaningful student research experiences. AHW aims to foster Wisconsin’s future research, health care, and health improvement workforce by establishing experiences that build skills and capacity among the next generation of leaders.
Through this opportunity, researchers serving as preceptors can support health sciences students to explore potential careers in cutting-edge biomedical research and academic medicine, gain research tools applicable to clinical practice, and develop mentoring associations with MCW faculty. This opportunity is open to MCW investigators with eligible AHW-funded projects that will be active, at least in part, between May and August 2020.
Under this grant, AHW intends to fund six student research projects over a 10-week period. Each project should anticipate a budget of approximately $6,150. Brief Statements of Intent from interested MCW investigators are due September 30, 2019 by 5:00 pm CST.
