Project Description Narrative:


The Health Literacy Collaborative Summit (HLCS) will welcome a diverse group of health professionals to learn about actionable health literacy findings, evidence-based information, tools, and practical experience in a collaborative environment. This event will focus on translating research into practice and providing guidance to attendees on how to take steps to enhance health literacy.

HLCS will be hosted by health literacy partner organizations from Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, and Texas, allowing professionals from Wisconsin to expand their health literacy networks and learn from out of state partners and national experts.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:


81 surveys (n=81) with valid results was received. One question was below goal (80%), and the lowest scoring question were # 4 at 78%: “This activity prepared me to effectively communicate about this topic with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds:”. The highest scoring questions were question 1, 2, and 3 “This educational activity was relevant to my (clinical or community-based) practice/training level" -82%; “This educational activity contributed to my professional effectiveness related to health literacy” 82% and, “ This educational activity contributed to my professional effective effectiveness related to”- 80%.
