Supporting Wisconsin nurses with tools for self-care, stress management, and mental health through a statewide event focused on well-being and workforce resilience
Return to Listing
The demanding nature of nursing, coupled with a professional development structure that has historically emphasized caring for others over training in self-care and stress management, has led to high levels of stress and burnout among Wisconsin nurses. This critical gap leaves nurses vulnerable to the cumulative effects of workplace stressors, impacting their health, job satisfaction, and the overall strength of the nursing profession in the state. Our goal is to directly confront this issue by providing the missing tools and support to enhance the stability of the nursing workforce. Addressing the high levels of stress and burnout reported by Wisconsin nurses is imperative. This situation is compounded by a notable professional development gap in self-care training, leaving nurses without adequate strategies to manage the demands of their vital work. Closing this gap is essential for their well-being and for sustaining the nursing workforce in Wisconsin.
This event will offer a multi-faceted program featuring impactful personal stories from speakers with lived experience, experiential mindfulness activities for immediate use (and to take home), and comprehensive literature on readily available resources for Wisconsin nurses.
