Project Description Narrative:
Child maltreatment is a significant public health issue, often occurring alongside adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Wisconsin communities face economic and racial disparities in maltreatment reports, and there is a growing need for community-based primary prevention strategies.
This project aims to improve prevention efforts against abuse and neglect across Wisconsin by leveraging knowledge from a unique study of family resource centers (FRCs). These community hubs offer comprehensive support to address diverse family needs, serving high-risk and low- to moderate-risk families.
Results from the study will support the implementation of FRCs and strengthen their capacity and ability to prevent child abuse and neglect, ultimately benefiting families across the state.
