Assessing and strategizing on the current health services infrastructure in Wisconsin schools
Return to Listing
Children who attend public school in Wisconsin are at an increasing risk for serious health problems. From obesity and social and economic distress to environmental hazards, these factors can contribute to life-threatening health outcomes such as asthma, diabetes, mental illness, and drug and alcohol dependency, among others. Additionally, a rise in the number of students with special health care needs and a lack of consistent health infrastructure add to the need for a call to action to protect the health and safety of school age children and youth.
Partners in this project will analyze the current delivery of health services to school-aged children and youth. Through this work, a foundation will be established for creating system change and multiple levels and to strengthen the health of Wisconsin children.
