Project Description Narrative:


Reducing suicide calls not only for an increase in awareness but prevention. Taylor County Health Department, Northcentral Technical College (NTC), and MCW Comprehensive Injury Center are partnering to provide community agencies and organizations with suicide prevention and education focusing on higher-risk populations: youth, LGBTQ+, farmers/agricultural workers, Veterans, and older adults.

The event is open to the public, with presentations geared toward human services and health care professionals, senior providers, businesses, churches, veteran organizations, government officials, and NTC and other post-secondary students.

This hybrid event offers attendees across Taylor County the option of participating in-person or virtually, including opportunities to view sessions on YouTube afterward, to increase the reach of the event across the primarily rural area. A pre-event, in-person Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper training, will also be available for interested individuals.
