Project Description Narrative:


This learning event will provide essential and timely information and education on various learning gaps and advancements in minimally invasive general surgery. Attendees will include physicians, advanced practice providers, and other professionals in primary care, gastroenterology, minimally invasive and general surgery, and otolaryngology.

The symposium will address new medications and approaches, their indications, contraindications, complications and side effects, and expected outcomes. Topics will include evidence-based guidelines for biliary disease management; new obesity treatment medications and the impact of their use on metabolic surgery; new endoscopic and laparoscopic approaches to treating obesity, metabolic disease, benign esophageal disease, and benign gastric disease; and exploration of optimal hernia repair techniques and hernia repair mesh.

Developed to address specific barriers that attendees may face in their profession, the event will offer interactive and engaging lectures, case studies, and discussions.
