Project Description Narrative:


The COVID-19 pandemic health crisis has brought to light the need to train diverse researchers focused on advancing health. This includes a wide range of research, from basic biomedical research to translation of research to improve the health of communit

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:


  • Hiring is nearly complete for all principal faculty and staff and a plan is in place to begin recruiting for part-time faculty
  • Developed a 28-month academic calendar, including 16 months of didactic instruction with 11 clinical rotations and created draft syllabi with learning objectives aligned with the first year of the medical school's Fusion Curriculum to allow for an interprofessional education approach
  • Participated in two diversity pipeline events engaging with community youth interested in learning more about science, technology, and the PA program
  • Began writing the draft of the provisional initial accreditation report
