Project Description Narrative:

Although Wisconsin ranks highly in overall healthcare nationally, the state performs poorly in providing for the health of minority populations. Supporting education and growth surrounding JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) for all healthcare professionals is critical to improving health equity in our state.

With funding support from AHW, event speakers will deliver presentations on the social determinants of health equity, strategies for applying JEDI to practice and medical decision-making, and recommendations for how to address and dismantle ignorance.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:

Engaged 100 physicians and other health care professionals from across the state from a variety of specialties
Speakers presented on a wide variety of topics, including health equity, health opportunities and challenges in rural Wisconsin, physician leadership in advancing equity in health innovation, and maternal and infant health inequity
Attendees provided positive feedback about the overall event, and they agreed that the activities met their stated objectives
