Project Description Narrative:

Various strategies are available for diagnosing, treating, and managing neuroendocrine tumors and tumors caused by thyroid cancer and thyroid gland diseases. Neuroendocrine tumors (adrenal, pituitary, and pancreas tumors) are rare. They require a multidisciplinary approach, sometimes complicated by other inherited syndromes. In cases of thyroid tumors, most are low-risk, and patients can expect excellent survival rates. Optimal management with surgery or molecular testing is controversial.

With funding support from AHW, this symposium, hosted by the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery, will highlight modern diagnostics and management strategies for neuroendocrine tumor patients and the latest data on diagnosing and managing patients with thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
