Project Description Narrative:


Translating basic science research into the clinical arena and the community is essential in the process of bringing new health care knowledge and discoveries to Wisconsin communities. To develop such a resource to serve Wisconsin's communities, the Medical College of Wisconsin will recruit an administrator to support overall organization and development of the Clinical and Translational Research Center, an institutional center for conducting translational research, to be based at MCW and serve southeastern Wisconsin.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:


  • Held an introductory meeting in August to discuss developing a model for an integrated community/academic research program. Attendees included laboratory investigators, clinical investigators, and community representatives
  • Prepared job descriptions to staff the research development office
