Project Summary:
The theme of this conference is "Turning Momentum into Impact: Advancing Public Health Through Partnership and Practice."
This conference will bring together partners from across Wisconsin and beyond to share innovative practices, strengthen leadership and workforce resilience, and build the relationships needed to create lasting community change. Through learning, collaboration, and action-oriented discussions, attendees will explore strategies to improve community health, mobilize cross-sector partnerships, and elevate the role of advocacy and civic engagement in shaping healthier communities.
By participating in this conference, attendees will:
- Apply promising practices and innovative approaches to improve community health and address emerging public health challenges.
- Develop strategies to strengthen workforce capacity, leadership, and well-being in support of a resilient public health system.
- Mobilize partnerships across sectors to drive collective action and achieve lasting community impact.
This year's conference will invite new speakers like Dr. Yvonne Greer, Bryan Rogers and many more. Topics this year have a high focus on how to improve communications and change the narratives that might currently be affecting the public health profession. The event will also be touch on hot topics such as rural health transformation and how to better support the public health workforce. There will be something for everyone with the general sessions being applicable to everyone in the field.
The PHiP Conference is expected to draw between 120-150 in-person attendees this year. This includes association members and non-members ranging from retired professionals, active practitioners in the field, students and interns, and other public health partners looking to advance their skill set to improve the health of the public in Wisconsin. Often the attendees at PHiP are regarded as the "boots on the ground" public health workforce and tangential public health professions. Breakout sessions have been compiled by WPHA PHiP conference planning committee. Members of the committee are volunteer members who provide their time and expertise to carefully craft the conference theme, develop learning goals and objectives, solicit speakers from diverse backgrounds and fields, and work with the association management company to implement a successful learning event.
WPHA put out a call for presentations in May 2026 to invite those working in public health to provide an opportunity to share knowledge, research, practice, and skills with colleagues and partners. Over 25 practitioners and implementers from around the state will lead sessions during the conference.
