Project Summary:

WPHCA seeks funding to support the 2026 Teamwork Series Learning Session, scheduled for April 15-16, 2026, at the Milwaukee Marriott West in Waukesha. This annual event will, for the first time, be held in person near Milwaukee, expanding access for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) leaders statewide.

The two-day event will aim to provide FQHC leaders with an understanding of national and state efforts to promote investment in primary care workforce and advancements in primary care delivery models through a keynote discussion with an invited guest from a national organization involved in advancing a “Triple Double” approach that is aimed at communicating a need to increase primary care spend, workforce supports, and approaches for how CHCs can use the National Academies Implementing High-Quality Primary Care: Rebuilding the Foundation of Health Care as a basis for reimagining the CHC care delivery model.

The first day of the event will wrap up with an opportunity for FQHC staff to reflect on insights and ideas gained from the presentations with their colleagues and strengthen interprofessional connections at a networking reception. The second day will focus on smaller, facilitated groups and table conversations among cohort/peer groups. This session will support the exchange of ideas, sharing of insights, and information across CHCs. This event is occurring at a critical time in our nation’s history, as the safety net faces unprecedented threats to its sustainable federal funding and significant cuts to eligibility, benefits, and provider reimbursement.

This event will provide an opportune time for CHC leaders to learn and contemplate new ways of thinking about the delivery of care. WPHCA anticipates that 50-60 leaders from Federally Qualified Health Centers, representing executive, operational, financial, and clinical staff, will participate in the Teamwork Series. This generally includes C-suite leaders, including Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operations Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Medical Officers, and others. This event is open to all 19 FQHCs in the State of Wisconsin, including the two FQHC Look-Alikes.
