Project Summary:
WCHQ holds four member assemblies/education events per year to bring educational opportunities to our Wisconsin healthcare providers and the entire healthcare ecosystem, and to foster ongoing dialogue and collaboration between those providers and stakeholders (i.e., corporate partners, community partners, and other non-profits working within healthcare). The goals of WCHQ events are to: advance healthcare quality, address health disparities and promote health equity, support professional development and networking, and promote innovation with real-world impact through the dissemination of our members' work. The presentations offer opportunities for replication within attendees’ own organizations.
Our event in February will focus on the need for upstream interventions to prevent complications in healthcare, whether that means preventing disease through immunizations or intervening early in existing chronic diseases. We will use WCHQ data throughout the day in all presentations.
Event Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will understand the role of quality data and quality improvement in preventing disease development and progression
- Participants will learn the relationship between improved prevention, better outcomes, and lower healthcare costs
- Attendees will identify interventions applicable to their work
These presentations will support the event's goal of improving health equity and health outcomes by providing real-world practices that can be easily replicated at attendees' organizations. The networking and follow-up opportunities for connection and the general culture of sharing the “secret sauce” between WCHQ members happen at these events, and attendees leave with real-world, practical strategies for implementation.
We anticipate at least 180 attendees at this event. This event is public and open to anyone in the healthcare ecosystem working to improve healthcare quality. The event’s primary audience and marketing focus will be Wisconsin health system clinical staff, quality nurses and quality staff, social workers, and community programming throughout the state. This type of opportunity brings providers together to network and collaborate on best practices and initiatives to improve care. The focus of our event is on our partners and members; we anticipate that at least 15 health systems statewide will be represented and plan on a national presence from at least two of our pharmaceutical partners.
