Project Summary:


This meeting marks the official research launch of the Center for Substance Use Research & Intervention (SURI). The goal of the event is to improve substance use treatment delivery and access in Wisconsin by informing researchers and service providers in the Milwaukee area and MCW community on strategies related to key foci of SURI, including understanding innovative treatment service deliver strategies; understanding the epidemiology of substance misuse and addictions, with an emphasis on research identifying marginalized and vulnerable populations at risk; and research on implementing and evaluating community-oriented harm reduction strategies for substance use.

This event will provide a valuable introduction to SURI, its faculty and staff, and to regional and national experts who have considerable research-based knowledge on critical areas related to substance use treatment and epidemiology.
