Project Summary:
Healthcare disparities remain a significant challenge throughout Wisconsin, affecting patient outcomes and increasing healthcare costs. The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) has documented these disparities through their Healthy Metric projects, including a recent detailed report tracking changes over the past three years.
WCHQ's educational event will bring together approximately 150 healthcare providers and stakeholders to showcase innovative approaches to reducing disparities and improving health outcomes. The program features presentations on critical equity topics including humanity in healthcare, 2025 Medicaid priorities, maternal health home implementation, hypertension reduction in pregnancy using doulas, improving rural health engagement, and leveraging medically tailored meals for behavior change. Expert speakers from Medical College of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Department of Health Services Medicaid Program, Marshfield Clinic, and community organizations will share evidence-based strategies and successful interventions.
This collaborative forum will create opportunities for Wisconsin health system providers, quality staff, social workers, and community program leaders to network, share best practices, and build partnerships that extend beyond the event. By connecting successful disparity reduction initiatives with healthcare professionals across the state, WCHQ aims to catalyze sustainable improvements in care delivery and health equity that will ultimately enhance Wisconsin's overall health while reducing unnecessary costs.
