Project Summary:

Understanding and treating rare diseases and cancers requires sophisticated coordination between genetics research, disease mechanisms, and targeted therapies. Building networks that connect researchers, clinicians, and patients is essential for advancing treatment options for these complex conditions.

With funding support from AHW, this symposium will bring together scientists, clinicians, researchers, and patients to explore three key areas: understanding disease patterns and mechanisms, advances in genetic research, and targeted therapeutic approaches.

Through expert-led seminars, panel discussions, and a special Rare Storytellers patient session, the event will showcase new research methods, explore disease mechanisms, and build connections between researchers, clinicians, and the patient community.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:

  • Engaged audience with several keynote speakers who are global experts in the field
  • Presented multiple hours of new data and techniques recently developed to treat rare diseases and cancers
  • Feedback from audience participants relayed how impactful the seminar was to their work
