Project Summary:


Wisconsin ranks among the highest states for excessive alcohol consumption, contributing to significant public health concerns. Supporting educational opportunities focused on evidence-based prevention and policy is critical to addressing this persistent challenge.

The 2024 Alcohol Policy Seminar feature presentations on the alcohol policy environment, evidence-based prevention strategies, and cross-sector collaboration. This unique educational offering—the only one in Wisconsin focused specifically on alcohol policy and primary prevention—will bring together participants from public health, healthcare, and community organizations to learn effective approaches for reducing Wisconsin's excessive drinking rate.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:


  • Engaged audience during a "world cafe"-style environment with discussion topics providing opportunities to learn from case studies and group perspectives
  • Presented updated material on policy, law, and changes in the system that were very relevant and applicable to real-life situations
