According to the CDC, violence is an epidemic in the U.S. The consequences of violence for victims and all involved are severe and include serious physical and mental health challenges that may influence long-term help.

To invest in violence prevention and to maximize its impact with a public health approach, the MCW Consortium on Public and Community Health is launching the Violence Prevention Initiative (VPI). Through this initiative, the VPI will prevent and intervene early with youth in neighborhoods and schools; influence and motivate youth; and build capacity for violence prevention within schools, neighborhoods, and the broader community.
