Engaging communities in the prevention of risk factors of sexual and intimate partner violence
Return to Listing
Sexual and dating violence can have a strong and negative influence on the health and well-being of children and young adults. One in 11 adolescents report being a victim of physical dating violence each year, and 38% of Wisconsin child and adolescent sexual assaults are committed by children and adolescents themselves.
By developing leadership capacity and programs at eight Milwaukee neighborhood centers, Project Respect will prevent risk factors leading to sexual and dating violence, and increase protective factors. The project will utilize the Centers for Disease Control Ecological Model to reduce sexual and dating violence, improving the health and well-being of adolescents in Milwaukee.
