Creating a partnership to improve the health of women in Milwaukee County impacted by intimate partner violence
Return to Listing
Intimate partner violence (IVP) is the leading cause of intentional injuries to women and is associated with health risk behaviors such as tobacco use, substance abuse, mental health, responsible sexual behavior, and access to health care. While IVP crosses all socioeconomic and ethnic groups, the majority of IVP services are typically used by economically disadvantaged women.
This project will create a partnership between Milwaukee County’s four major health systems, in order to provide a consistent health care response to IPV in the county and to develop a better understanding of the current status of health care responses to IPV and a plan to improve and coordinate those care efforts.
