Reducing sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies among African American adolescents in the City of Milwaukee
Return to Listing
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and unintended pregnancies disproportionally affect African American adolescents in Milwaukee. In Wisconsin, Milwaukee ranks 6th out of the 50 largest U.S. in the percentage of total births to teen mothers, and 9th for births among adolescents who are already parents.
This project will reduce the rates of sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies among African American adolescents in the City of Milwaukee. Through the development of the Milwaukee Sexual Health Alliance, an increased coordination of STD prevention and treatment efforts will take place and STD and teen pregnancy prevention efforts will be implemented.
