Action planning to support a school-based mental health consortium in Marshfield
Return to Listing
Recent Youth Risk Behavior Survey data indicates that almost 20% of surveyed Marshfield High School students felt sad/hopeless every day for two weeks. Accessing appropriate mental health support can be a challenge for many students, with barriers including long wait-lists, lack of transportation and financial restraints. Schools, teachers, and mental health providers also face constraints and limitations due to an inability to provide direct referrals and best meet students where they are. This project aims to create a strategic plan to implement a school-based mental health consortium in Marshfield to support school-based mental health counseling, consultation and collaboration between schools, families and community partners to improve mental health access and overall well-being for students and families.
