Project Description Narrative:

Untreated tooth decay in children has reached epidemic proportions in the City of Milwaukee, where 36% of children were found to have untreated tooth decay. Though there are programs scattered throughout the city, due to limited resources, lack of coordination, and other challenges among the population needing dental care services, there are gaps in oral health care.

This project will improve the oral health of children in Milwaukee by implementing select objectives from the Healthy Teeth = Healthy Kids plan, increasing access to oral health education, prevention, and treatment services for children and families in the City of Milwaukee.

Community partners: Columbia St. Mary’s, Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Health Services Inc., Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Dental Center, Marquette University School of Dentistry, Southeast Dental Associates
