Reducing dental disease and the need for treatment and elimination of chronic mouth pain among children
Return to Listing
In Southeastern Wisconsin, 36% of children have untreated dental decay. Though there are various programs scattered throughout the dental community that attempt to address children’s oral health needs, there are significant gaps in oral health care. Working together, partners for this project will create an oral health plan accessible by all. Using information from an oral health assessment identifying all oral health programs in the City of Milwaukee, and the current gaps in health data and services.
The action plan to will not only allow project partners to plan appropriately for use of current available resources, but it will serve as valuable tool to educate policy makers and other key stakeholders on the role good oral health plays in a child’s ability to learn and be a productive citizen.
