Establishing network of peer support groups to encourage blood pressure control among elderly members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
Return to Listing
Hypertension is a major cause of death and disability in Wisconsin and across the country. A subtle reduction in blood pressure can significantly reduce the likelihood of heart attack, stroke, and all deaths from cardiovascular disease.
This project will aim to develop a Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) affiliated network of peer support groups to focus on the control of hypertension, helping participants to adopt strategies that have been proven to improve chronic disease management.
