Improving services for cognitively impaired seniors by utilizing health science students
Return to Listing
Waukesha’s senior population has grown significantly, and with that growth, there has been an increase in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias associated with advanced age.
To provide essential community support and help the aging population maintain independence, community partners seek to improve cognitive impairment screening. Through this project, volunteer staff will be trained on screening and assessment procedures and Carroll College advanced nursing students will provide weekly hours to conduct assessments.
