Bringing best practices for improving surgical care into clinical practice
Return to Listing
The SCW summer meeting will gather surgeons and surgical team members from hospitals across Wisconsin’s communities to discuss best practices for improving surgical care. The event goal is to address the lag between releasing evidence-based guidelines and best practices and real-world implementation into clinical practice.
Event attendees will engage in activities focusing on four initiatives essential to improving care: reducing post-operative opioid use and prescribing; improving implementation of enhanced recovery protocols by multidisciplinary teams; measuring and improving colonoscopy quality; and reducing repeat operations for women with breast cancer.
The event will feature expert panel discussions, case presentations, engaging small table discussions, and action planning.
