Project Description Narrative:


In responding to COVID-19, nursing homes and other post-acute care facilities in Wisconsin face unique challenges including operating with scarce resources and tight margins while caring for the population at highest risk for negative outcomes if infected. Through this award, a student research experience will be developed to expand the scope of the AHW-funded Effectiveness of Personal Protective Equipment Across Wisconsin Nursing Homes project by investigating how factors such as geographical location, government ratings, health measures/quality measures, nursing staff, and size affect incidence of COVID-19 in nursing homes.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned:


Completed literature review of COVID-19 and how it has impacted long-term care facilities, which was submitted for publication and the results will allow the research team to identify new areas of research
