According to the National Network of Public Helath Institutes (NNPHI), there are 41 states with active public health institutes, and about 20 are characterized as "emerging." In 2006, the Institute for Wisconsin's Health was incorporated to work with and through business, medicine, and public health leaders to catalyze the adoption of effective prevention strategies in the workplace and beyond.
Through this award, project partners will build capacity within Wisconsin's independent public health institute to accelerate its ability to carry out its mission and impact the health of Wisconsin residents.
