Project Description Narrative:

Funding for this project will support a pilot program to integrate and coordinate the healthcare research-related activities of basic scientists, clinical investigators, and community partners. A disease area will be selected that results in a high incidence of morbidity and mortality in Wisconsin and a disease for which both the academic and community partners have current support. The intent is to bring participating partners together to develop a strategy to coordinate their research activities.

AHW funding will support the development of a model for an integrated program to determine its administrative and infrastructure requirements. Subsequently, with support from the National Institutes of Health, this model will be applied to other disease entities.
